Bring in your recyclables on the first Sunday of every month
USCW is making a change to when and how we accept your recyclables
- We will now have a monthly “Recycling Sunday” event on the first Sunday of every month
- Mark your calendars for the first Sunday of each month, so you’ll remember
- They cannot be accepted any other day/time
We still accept the same “hard to recycle” materials as before:
Polystyrene (best known under the brand name “Styrofoam”)
- Must be clean and dry – no tape, etc. accepted
- “Packing peanuts” also accepted, please bring in a bag or box
- No flexible foam
- These go in the large clear bin
Printer ink cartridges
- Please bring in a plastic bag
- Cartridges only, no laser toner ink
- These go in the green bin with a slot in the middle of the lid
Shoes
- All types accepted, laces okay
- These go in the giant gym shoe container
Batteries (for now – this program is being reevaluated)
- Small household alkaline batteries only
- Sizes AAA, AA, C, D, 9-volt and small disc batteries (used in key fobs, garage door remotes, etc.)
- No phone, car, boat or other specialty batteries can be accepted
- These go in the two cylindrical containers that look like AA batteries
Anything not listed here cannot be accepted.
The containers will be available for approximately 15 minutes prior to and 30 minutes following the Sunday services, in Fellowship, to the left of the coffee station
