Dr. Gayle Bereskin, DO (she/her) is a board-certified physician in family medicine and hospice and palliative medicine. With nearly 30 years of clinical experience, she specializes in hospice and palliative care, with additional interest in integrative therapies. Dr. Bereskin is trained in acupuncture, osteopathic manipulative therapies including cranial sacral work, and the expressive arts. Dr. Bereskin is trained in psychedelic-assisted therapies through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute, completing an extensive year-long program with Cohort 5. Dr. Bereskin has collaborated with multiple hospice agencies, providing home care and care center services. She has been an integral part of several hospital inpatient palliative medicine teams, demonstrating her expertise across the hospice and palliative medicine spectrum. Traditional medical models often fall short in addressing the profound grief and demoralization associated with life-limiting illnesses and the loved ones who care for those suffering with those chronic illnesses. Dr. Bereskin advocates for the use of ketamine-assisted therapy as a
complement to conventional treatments. This approach targets the core issues of palliative care patients’ and their loved ones/caregivers’ grief and anxiety offering a fresh perspective and opportunities for healing, finding new meaning, and connections.
