Unity EarthCare Tip of the Month

May, 2026

For 2026, all twelve months of tips will follow a common theme: 12 Powers for our Planet, based on the national Unity EarthCare program. The Unity 12 Powers will also be explored yearlong at USCW through our Fourth Sunday themed services.

This month we explore the power of Power.

Power 5 – Power

The power of Power may seem circular, but Charles Fillmore recognized that “power” was the best word for the human ability to take action as needed.

In a contemporary context, the Unity spiritual power of Power is all about achieving mastery of ourselves to transform our lives and our world.

  • The spiritual principle of power is at quite another level than any forms of power commonly highlighted in modern culture.

  • We are at a point in human evolution in which we need to tap into the power to do what is necessary to restore the Earth and create sustainable living for generations to come.

Exercising spiritual power requires us to remember who, and what, we truly are.

  • We are not small, vulnerable, limited beings at the mercy of events that happen to us.

  • We are extensions of the Creator, expressions of God, and quite literally, we have power.

From an ecological perspective, we have the responsibility to care for creation. We have the power to overcome any thoughts of dominating nature, and instead to live in harmony as part of nature.

And playing on the word “power,” we look at various forms of energy and wisely choose those that are safe and renewable, increasingly tapping into the power of the sun, wind and water for our energy sources.
